And after His Majesty the King affirmed, in this message read by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, that the city of Jerusalem enjoys a privileged place in the conscience of the Arab and Islamic peoples, His Majesty stressed that defending it " In this context, His Majesty stressed the need for concerted Arab and Islamic efforts, in order to engage in the path of protecting and supporting the Holy City of Jerusalem On this occasion, His Majesty the King reaffirmed the Kingdom's firm commitment to support the Palestinian cause in general, and Jerusalem in particular.
His Majesty affirmed that he attaches utmost importance to the Holy City, “out of the spirit of the trust that we hold, in our capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, emanating from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ".
His Majesty the King indicated that Morocco, based on its firm commitment, remains convinced that the Palestinian issue is "a fundamental political issue, and it is the key to a permanent and comprehensive solution in order to establish peace and stability in the Middle East region " His Majesty underlined that on this basis, a just settlement should be found within the framework of international legitimacy, and in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution agreed upon by the international community.
In this regard, His Majesty the King called for pushing towards a political breakthrough that would open horizons for optimism in a future in which peace, security and prosperity prevail in the region, by respecting the principles of coexistence and considering difference, whether cultural, religious or sectarian, as an asset and cultural and social richness Combined, unites and does not separate.
His Majesty clarified that the matter is related to the same approach adopted by the “Al-Quds Appeal”, which His Majesty signed with His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, in Rabat on March 30, 2019, in which the emphasis was on “the importance of preserving the Holy City of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, as it is a common heritage of humanity ” And as, above all, a land of meeting of civilizations, a symbol of peaceful coexistence for the followers of the three monotheistic religions, and a center of the values of mutual respect and dialogue.
On the other hand, His Majesty the King affirmed in this message that, "Believing in our belief that peace in the Middle East region remains an indispensable strategic option, the Kingdom of Morocco will continue its efforts, investing all its capabilities, and the distinguished relations it has with all active international parties and forces " In this regard, His Majesty highlighted that Morocco seeks to contribute to "any international effort aimed at re-launching the path of dialogue and negotiations, as the only way to put an end to conflict and achieve security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East.

His Majesty said, "The unilateral measures, which would give an illegitimate reality to Jerusalem and its surroundings, are considered a threat to the city's legal status, its demographic composition, and its historical character based on a plurality of cultures and religions," considering that "the systematic measures are inconsistent with international law and United Nations resolutions.
" It does not help to build confidence, but rather undermines all the foundations for reaching a permanent solution, based on the existence of two states living side by side, in security and peace Undoubtedly, His Majesty the King adds in this letter, " Talking about the difficult reality of al-quds al-sharif cannot be read in isolation from its general context, which is related to the course of the Palestinian cause.
The cessation of negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian sides, and the continued state of intransigence and stagnation in the peace process, gives the extremist parties an opportunity to inflame the conflict, stir up religious feelings, and increase the state of congestion and tension within the city of Jerusalem, which threatens to transform the conflict from a political conflict into an ideological one, which may have dire consequences His Majesty considered that protecting the city of Jerusalem from plans to change its historical and legal status should be an honest and sincere act, away from the scope of empty slogans, sterile bidding, and narrow calculations.
